@Strip_Strike_charters reports the Tarpon Run is really starting to “take off” in the Florida Keys. Here is an awesome little fish story by Captain Paul with his client’s tarpon gaining altitude with plenty of attitude!
Capt. Paul says, “Long time client Bruce Garland, who I have to force to catch a tarpon because he intimately loves all things Permit launches and lands a jumbo tarpon using a 10” white Hogy on 20lb spinning tackle. We were looking for Permit as we always do but ran into a pack of wild and starving tarpon. We had 5 bites in 6 casts until finally got this one to stick. In typical Bruce fashion, he turns to me and says “don’t ever let me do that again”.
