Today we are checking out the Unsinkable Dry Fly, tied by Steve Cullen! If you are wondering why it’s called an unsinkable fly, it’s down to how it’s built and the materials involved. This fly is designed to sit on the surface in any sort of condition and similar to that of a Fidget, an old dry fly pattern, you can twitch and jerk this fly to create a lot of action on the surface, imitating a fly which has ended up stuck on the surface of the water. Get a few of these tied up ready for your next day out, they’re definitely worth a cast!
All of the materials needed to tie this fly are available from Glasgow Angling Centre as listed below, but as always, if you need any help finding materials or substitutes then we’ll be happy to help.
